It Shouldn’t Be Allowed

It cannot be right
that the coffin's so tiny.
There ought to be a rule.

.. and when at night you close your eyes,
behind your eyelids, she is still alive.

she laughs and plays and calls to you,
her little fingers take hold of your hand.

It just can't be correct
that the coffin's so tiny.
It shouldn't be allowed.
