BIOGRAPHY

Felix Cheong’s first collection of poetry was Temptation and Other Poems (1998), which was followed by I Watch the Stars Go Out (1999), Broken by the Rain (2003), Sudden in Youth: New and Selected Poems (2009), and B-Sides and Backslides: 1986-2018 (2018). Cheong has written two young adult fiction books used as part of a national education campaign—The Call From Crying House (2006) and its sequel, The Woman In The Last Carriage (2007). His collection of short stories, Vanishing Point, was longlisted for the Frank O’Connor Award. He has written a series of satirical flash fiction, with the latest being Singapore Siu Dai 3. Cheong won the National Arts Council’s Young Artist of the Year for Literature Award in 2000 and the poetry slam at the Hong Kong International Literary Festival in 2004. He holds a master’s degree in creative writing and is currently an adjunct lecturer with Murdoch University and University of Newcastle.
