BIOGRAPHY

Trained in art history and literature at the National University of Singapore, Yale University and the University of Chicago, Samuel Lee is a writer and researcher with a special interest in visual cultures of the 19th century.

Samuel Lee's writing has been published in A Luxury We Cannot Afford (2014) and the Yale Literary Magazine, and has also been adapted for a choral work by Eric Banks. His first poetry collection, A Field Guide to Supermarkets in Singapore (2016), was awarded the Singapore Literature Prize for Poetry in English in 2018, making him the youngest winner of the prize to date He lives in Singapore, where he works at the National Heritage Board.
