BIOGRAPHY

黄文杰(1967—)生于新加坡,曾用笔名华英。毕业于新加坡理工学院,现为工程师,在泰国曼谷工作。80年代开始诗歌创作,作品多发表于新加坡文学杂志和报刊。2013年获新加坡金笔奖,2014年《夜未央》诗集入围新加坡文学奖;2021年出版《短舌》(繁体华文版),并于2023年由林伟杰英译,出版《短舌》双语版(英文、简体华文)。

Born in 1967, Wang Mun Kiat is a Singaporean poet who has written under the pen-name "Hua Ying". Since graduating from Singapore Polytechnic, he has worked in the engineering industry and is now based in Bangkok. Wang started writing poetry in the 1980s and continues to participate in literary societies in his spare time. His works have been published in literary magazines in Singapore and Lianhe Zaobao. In 2013, he was awarded 3rd Place at the Golden Point Award for Poetry in Chinese. That same year, he published his first poetry collection, Not Yet Midnight which was shortlisted the following year for the Singapore Literature Prize. His second collection Short Tongue was published in 2021 (Traditional Chinese) and translated into English (Bilingual Edition, with Simplified Chinese) by the poet Daryl Lim Wei Jie in 2023.
