BIOGRAPHY
英培安(1947-2021),笔名孔大山,祖籍广东新会,生于新加坡。毕业于义安学院中文系。曾创办《茶座》、《前卫》及《接触》杂志。曾荣膺东南亚文学奖并四次获得新加坡文学奖。2003年荣膺新加坡文化勋章。曾任新加坡南洋理工大学中文系首届驻校作家。英培安的小说经常被翻译,至今已出版英文、马来文、丹麦文和意大利文译本。
Yeng Pway Ngon (1947-2021), who wrote under the pen name Kong Da Shan, was born in Singapore. His ancestral home is in Xinghui, Guangdong. Graduating from the Chinese department of Ngee Ann College, he is the founder of the magazines Tea House, Vanguard Monthly and Contact. Yeng was awarded the Southeast Asian Writers Award, the Singapore Book Award, and also received the Singapore Literature Award thrice. For his contributions to the literary scene, Yeng was awarded the Cultural Medallion for Literature, the highest artistic honour in Singapore, in 2003. Yeng was also the first writer-in-residence for Nanyang Technological University Chinese Department, and his works have been translated into English, Malay, Danish and Italian.
