SELECTED POEMS

Biological

to enfold in darkness
and unfold to light

hearing the silence grow

obliterating all discourses
on boredom or woe

outside the wind always blows

soft or intense

there’s still the sun’s heat
each rainy season’s cool release

partial to what plants need bear
in toll of flowers

each month i bleed

clearing what might have been
ground for faithful planting
and fruitful bearing of seed

beyond a life spent treading water
the need to submit embrace and endure

this starting over and over

the earthbound rule to be one with nature
